North London, and the road out
North London's academic map follows the Northern line: the Royal Veterinary College keeps its city campus at Camden — teaching animal medicine since 1791, the oldest veterinary school in the English-speaking world — with its biological sciences park out at Hawkshead beyond the M25.
London Metropolitan at Holloway is the city's people's university — one of the most diverse student bodies in Europe, formed from the old Polytechnic of North London. Middlesex at Hendon carries the name of a county that no longer exists administratively, and a business school with serious regional reach.
Three houses for the northern heights — where the rent drops, the campus lawns widen, and the Piccadilly line runs you into King's Cross in twenty minutes.
